  • Hurry!!! Thursday and Friday are the last 2 days to sign up for the Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM)  Program (4th-12 graders)!!!!! Please turn in your registration form  , along with payment to the front office, Attention: Ms. Kim Allison


  • Driver Education:  Driver Training, Inc. will be returning to University High, September 15 - October 1, 2014, the cost is $350 per student. DTI is Safety Cooperative Driver Testing Program (CDTP) certified, and offers Tennessee DOS approved driving instruction in the classroom and behind-the-wheel. Being CDTP certified allows us to administer the knowledge test for a learner's permit and the road skills test after completing the course for driver education. You can avoid the three month waiting list for a road test at the Department of Safety. In addition to avoiding long lines, completing our course will secure a $500.00 per year reduction on your car insurance for your new teen driver.   • Disney's Aristocats, kids will be performed by University School 3rd through 9th grade students on Friday, September 5th, at 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 6th, at 2:00 p.m., and also on Saturday, September 6th, at 7:00 p.m.  The cast and crew are now selling tickets for the event ; cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students/children.  Please see Ms. Ross if you have any questions.  Make plans now to come out and enjoy what is sure to be a wonderful performance from our Theatrical/Musical Jr. Bucs!!!!!


  • Cookie dough and Tumbler orders will be available for pickup on September 2nd, from 2-6pm in the school gym.  All orders MUST be picked up during that time.  Fundraiser sponsored by University School Foundation


  • The Johnson City Police Department and ETSU Public Safety want to remind students of traffic safety concerns around the ETSU campus. State of Franklin Road at ETSU is a major roadway with a high volume of traffic. Students should utilize the foot bridge at the Mini Dome or cross walks at intersections when crossing State of Franklin Road. University Parkway is also a four-lane road with a significant amount of traffic. Students should yield to pedestrians in cross walks and observe speed limits on campus and on surrounding city roadways. The Johnson City Police Department will be enforcing speeding, jaywalking and other traffic laws to help ensure a safe environment for the students at ETSU.

  • Seniors-  Please remember that you must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community service in order to graduate and 80 hours to be honored as a Tennessee Scholar (http://www.tennesseescholars.org/) during graduation.  The One Acre Café needs daytime volunteers so this might be a good Fall Break opportunity.  See the following link for more information

  • Sweet Dessert Cabaret:  Do you like sweet desserts?  Do you like great music?  Then don't miss the Sweet Cabaret on Friday night, August 29th, in the University School Gym, at 6:00 p.m.  Music will be presented by members of the UH Chorus , Glee Club , Men's Ensemble and many soloists.  Come hear many of your favorite songs while you enjoy a piece of pie, cake, cookies or other sweets!  The Sweet Dessert Cabaret:  Tickets are just $5 per person and can be purchased from any Chorus, Band or Glee Club member.  See you on Friday, 29th!
