The BSDH Online Degree Completion Program began in the Fall Semester 2001. The first class graduated spring semester 2003.
Eligible hygienists have earned an Associate or Certificate Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution and have a minimum of two years experience in the dental hygiene profession.
As indicated by the tables below, credit will be given for an earned Associate/Certificate in Dental Hygiene. In addition, two years experience and the successful completion DHYG 3100 online (5 hours) will earn the student an additional 16 hours of upper division credit. These hours plus the additional 13 hours online will earn the student a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene.
All dental hygiene courses for this program are online. However, all students participating in the BSDH Degree Completion program are required to visit campus two times, for program orientation and the local anesthesia laboratory.
General Education Core requirements may transfer from other universities or be taken online through ETSU or the Tennessee Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) to meet the general education core requirements for the BSDH degree.
