Dental Hygiene Admission Requirements

Requirements for consideration of an applicant are as follows:

  • Graduation from high school.
  • Acceptance to the university.
  • College transcripts.
  • Personal interview with the Dental Hygiene Admissions Committee.
  • Completed dental hygiene application form.

Complete application and all admission requirements listed above must be received no later than March 1, preceding the fall semester in which you wish to enter the program.

One class is admitted each fall semester. Students are required to attend five consecutive semesters to complete the dental hygiene curriculum. Admission is determined by the Dental Hygiene Admissions Committee. Each applicant is evaluated on the basis of academic preparation and record.

Completion of Anatomy and Physiology I and II and the Labs (Health Sciences 2010, 2011, 2020, and 2021), Microbiology (Health Sciences 2230 and 2231) and Chemistry 1310 (or their semester equivalents at another university) with a 2.5 or higher science and overall college GPA will greatly increase the applicant's chances for selection into the program.
