The Tennessee Board of Regents and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission have granted final approval for the BSDH Online.  The program is designed for students who have earned an Associate Degree or Certificate in Dental Hygiene, have two years of practical experience, and want an expanded knowledge base in their chosen profession.   Students completing this program will gain additional expertise in periodontal therapies, supportive periodontal therapy, soft tissue management programs, geriatric therapy, community and rural health, anesthesia and pain control, and teaching strategies for health professionals.  Prospective students must meet the requirements of the university for graduation with a bachelor's degree (i.e., all general education core requirements must be completed in addition to the online dental hygiene courses).  Upper division courses from other universities may transfer to ETSU to meet graduation requirements.
