6. How do I know whether I have been offered a tuition scholarship or a graduate assistantship?

Graduate assistantships and tuition scholarships are awarded by individual departments. Graduate coordinators handle the selection process and they should be your first contact concerning assistantships and scholarships. The School of Graduate Studies lists available graduate assistantships or tuition scholarship positions.

7. I have been admitted to a degree program at ETSU. When do I get my I-20 or DS-2019?

Your I-20 or DS-2019 will be issued immediately once you are admitted and acceptable financial documents have been provided.

No, we do not accept faxed documents.

9. Can you express my I-20?

No, we do not express I-20s. Sometimes, however, the departments who offer students graduate assistantships may be willing to express it at their expense. Another option will be for the student to pay for the express mail expense via their credit card. To do that complete this form and e-mail, fax or mail it to the International Programs Office.

10. I need a place to stay. Can you arrange temporary housing?

Yes, temporary housing may be arranged for international students. Cost varies from $10 to $30 per night, plus tax. Please contact the Housing Office for further information. Due to demand, temporary on-campus housing is generally not available. Arrangements should be made at a local hotel/motel prior to your arrival.

11. Can you help me arrange off-campus housing?

Unfortunately, we do not have an off-campus housing office, but the Adult Commuter and Transfer Services Office maintains a listing of off-campus housing.
