Function of Position
Responsible to the Director of Admissions for assisting with the development and
implementation of the strategic direction for technology, processes and
procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Office of
Admissions. Duties include
assisting in the implementation of the Banner Student Information System, data
collection and reporting, electronic file receipt and transmission and
management of web application and inquiry systems.
Serves on various committees and task forces and; and performs other
related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions

Assists with Banner implementation and maintenance.

Collects, manages and reports data.

Trains and supervises staff pertaining to academic credentials.

Manages database applications.

Participates in strategic planning for technology.
- Supervises support
staff members, and indirectly supervises five admissions counselors.
Secondary Functions
-
Manages web application and inquiry systems.

Coordinates electronic file updates and uploads.

Manages conversion of SIS PLUS to Banner.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
-
Knowledge of institutional organization, policies, and procedures
generally used in the higher education admissions process.

Knowledge of data management systems.

Ability to coordinate, analyze, and synthesize data.

Ability to write effectively.

Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty to
promote positive relations and encourage enrollment.

Ability to review academic criteria of individuals in terms of admission
requirements, university programs, and educational and career objectives.

Ability to manage and extract data from computer student information
systems.
Supervision Given and Received
Performs under general supervision.
Supervises support staff directly and administrative staff indirectly.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required in computer science or management information
systems; two or more years of relevant professional or business related
experience required, preferably in higher education.
