potential; Function of Position Responsible to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Services for directing the university Financial Aid Office through development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive financial aids services for students from federal, state, institutional, and private sources; and performing other related duties as assigned. Essential Functions - Administers and supervises the implementation of all university financial aid policies, office procedures and funding programs. - Directs supervision of all office personnel. - Plans, organizes and supervises the operational functions of the Financial Aid Office. -Complies with all NCAA rules and regulations, and acknowledges this compliance as part of an annual evaluation process. -Signs an NCAA Compliance Statement annually. Secondary Functions - Counsels students, faculty, parents and staff regarding financial aid programs. - Prepares and completes required reports and applications for Federal, State and local funds and grants. - Attends and assists with meetings and workshops on financial aid. - Prepares and maintains operating budget. - Prepares student cost-of-attendance budgets. - Acts as liaison between university, students, parents, faculty and community to insure positive relations and encourage enrollment. - Visits area high schools, community colleges, clubs and other organizations to present informational programs on behalf of the university. - Disseminates financial aid information to staff, students, other university constituents, and community organizations. - Insures security, confidentiality, and safety of financial aid records, promissory notes, etc. - Supervises the development of publications, forms, and mailings. - Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge of federal, state, institutional and local sources of financial aid. - Knowledge of finance, accounting, and management and computer services. - Knowledge of institutional organization, policies, procedures, and administrative practices generally used in higher education. - Knowledge of federal regulations and new developments in Title IV programs. - Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff members. - Ability to facilitate and lead an effective financial aid operation. Supervision Given and Received Determines own work assignments where a definite objective has been set requiring a wide range of procedures. Decisions based on established policies and procedures and federal and state regulations. Supervises professional and classified personnel. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree required; five years of progressively responsible experience at a supervisory level within a university financial aid program.
