Function of Position 

Responsible to the Director, Alumni Programs, for performing duties associated with the coordination of Alumni Programs including outreach activities with targeted grassroots alumni activities for geographic areas; providing guidance for student engagement efforts; assisting with alumni and campus events and other maintenance and cultivation of alumni relationships; assisting the Office of University Advancement in its activities; coordinating graduation activities; performing administrative maintenance on the departmental website; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions 

-      Coordinates outreach alumni activities.

-      Coordinates campus alumni activities.

-      Coordinates student alumni marketing.

-      Assists with the coordination of the Alumni Golf Tournament including planning, hole sponsorship, etc.

-      Coordinates the graduation celebration, Real World 101.

-      Plans and conducts regional alumni and society activities as well as pre-game activities in conjunction with athletic events.

-      Performs administrative maintenance on the departmental website.

Secondary Functions 

-       Identifies effective volunteer leadership for alumni programs/chapters.

-       Coordinates the Alumni Constituent Council of Leaders.

-       Facilitates the Alumni Student Recruitment Network.

-       Facilitates the Alumni Ambassador Program.

-       Assists the Office of University Advancement in its activities.

-      Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities 

-      Knowledge of fund raising techniques.

-      Knowledge of promotional management, public relations and group development.

-      Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

-      Ability to communicate effectively.

-      Ability to work effectively with university staff, alumni, volunteers and other university personnel.

-      Ability to relate to the public.

-      Ability to make sound financial decisions.

-      Ability to work in a detail oriented environment and handle stress well.

-      Ability to use a computer and various software packages.

-      Ability to work independently.

-      Ability to resolve problems and work with confidential information and financial records.

Supervision Given and Received 

Performs under general supervision.  Determines own methods of performing assigned work.

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree required in Mass Communications, Marketing, Business or related discipline; three years of experience.
