Function of Position 

Responsible to the Registrar for supervising the Records and Veterans Affairs Offices; maintaining student records; implementing the Banner Student Information System and converting all student records from SIS (Student Information System) to Banner; issuing student academic transcripts; certifying NCAA eligibility; managing office budgets and computer resources; data collection and reporting; generating and maintaining office web pages; managing database applications; supervising implementation and continuing operation of GoldLink-Online; training faculty, staff and advisors in the use of the SIS (Student Information System) and Banner; managing acquisition and distribution of academic regalia for commencement; and serving on various committees and task forces.

Essential Functions 

-      Manages the Records and Veteran Affairs Offices.

-      Coordinates the implementation of Banner in converting all student records from the Student Information System (SIS) to the Banner system.

-      Collects, manages, and reports student-related data.

-      Trains faculty, staff and advisors in the use of SIS and Banner.

-      Maintains GoldLink-Online and databases.

-      Determines student eligibility for participation in intercollegiate sports.

-      Complies with all NCAA rules and regulations and acknowledges this compliance as part of an annual evaluation process.

-      Signs NCAA compliance statement annually.

-      Participates in the development and maintenance of computer-related systems.

-      Issues student academic transcripts.

-       Supervises exempt and non-exempt employees.

-       Manages the Office of the Registrar in the Registrar’s absence. 

Secondary Functions 

-      Acquires and distributes academic regalia.

-      Serves on various university committees      

-      Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities 

-                Knowledge of microcomputer hardware and software including operating systems, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, graphics and desktop publishing.

-                Knowledge of mainframe computing environments related software and operating systems.

-                Knowledge of NCAA and Veterans Affairs regulations.

-                Knowledge of SIS and Banner systems.

-                Ability to learn and implement new software packages for mainframe and microcomputers.

-                Ability to plan, develop and implement workshops and training programs.

-                Ability to communicate effectively.

-                Ability to maintain good working relations with staff, faculty and students.

Supervision Given and Received 

Performs under general supervision. Determines own methods of performing assigned work. 

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of three years experience in a registrar-related position.
