potential; Function of Position Responsible to the Director of the Child Study Center for acting as team leader in a specific section of the center, i.e. infants, toddlers, or preschool (LIST EXACT AREA ON EACH DESCRIPTION); overseeing day-to-day operation of specific section (LIST) of the center; implementing tasks and curriculum/experiences for the children in a specific section (LIST); and performing other related duties as assigned. Essential Functions -Supervises other teachers and student workers in respective (LIST) area. -Coordinates staffing patterns for teachers and student workers with assistant director. -Develops curriculum. -Serves as head teacher in a classroom. -Acts as team member with center administration in regard to budget, enrollment, staffing, supplies and equipment needs. -Acts as team member with early childhood faculty to coordinate field placements. -Helps monitor communication in section (parents, students, staff, etc.). -Represents section at center meetings. Secondary Functions -Schedules substitutes as needed. -Gives orientation to new children/families. -Maintains section inventory/supply needs. -Acts as mentor. -Coordinates daily details for section. -Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities -Knowledge of standards and regulations of DHS and NAEYC. -Knowledge of child development and early childhood education. -Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs for children. -Ability to supervise field experiences for college students. -Ability to communicate effectively. Supervision Given and Received Performs under general supervision. Determines own methods of performing assigned work. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in early childhood education required; three years experience as a lead teacher with young children in a planned program; recent experience with young children with developmental delays required; experience working in a supervisory role preferred.
