Function of Position

Responsible to the Dean for serving as the primary contact for college budgets and personnel; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

-        Processes and reviews all contracts.

-        Reviews and processes all personnel appointment papers.

-        Processes and reviews all grant proposals from college faculty.

-        Reviews all budget requests.

-        Monitors and maintains files for all College of Education budgets.

-        Maintains all personnel files for the College of Education.

-        Reviews all summer school contracts.

-        Reviews summer school schedule.

-        Works with the associate dean to manage all summer school programs, including marketing.

-        Reviews and processes all adjunct hires.

-        Monitors all computer needs.

-        Monitors budgets for the Dean.

-        Maintains personnel and budget files.

-        Prepares and disseminates reports for the dean to chairs.

-        Serves as liaison for the dean with Academic Affairs and Business and Finance.

-        Serves as a member of Chair’s Council and as its recorder.

Secondary Functions

-        Provides assistance to executive aides in the performance of their duties.

-        Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities

-        Knowledge of budgetary procedures.

-        Knowledge of university policies and procedures.

-        Knowledge of computers and various software packages.

-        Ability to function independently and make decisions.

-        Ability to organize and prioritize work.

-        Ability to communicate effectively.

Supervision Given and Received

Performs under general supervision.  Determines own methods of performing assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; three to five years of related experience, preferably in an academic setting.
