potential; Function of Position Responsible to the Executive Associate Dean for coordinating the college Novell computer network and student enrollment management system; serving as college technology liaison with information technology office; coordinating collection, processing and dissemination of data relative to clinical health requirements of the college; processing undergraduate applications for eligibility review; and performing other related duties as assigned. Essential Functions - Coordinates the College of Nursing (CON) Novell Computer Network and serves as liaison with university information technology office and outside vendors in the purchase of software relative to student records management systems. - Serves as liaison with research director regarding student data as appropriate. - Provides basic training to college personnel as appropriate with use of CON computerized student records; assigns passwords and security levels for accessing database system. - Presents recommendations for Web based courses and puts information on the Web. - Maintains inventory of college equipment; makes recommendations for disposal/repair. - Develops and recommends new procedures to ensure security of equipment. - Makes recommendations for and completes requests for student technology fees. - Makes recommendations to college administration for the appropriate distribution of computers to faculty and staff. - Troubleshoots computer related problems. - Oversees the inputting of prospective student and enrolled student data to create and maintain accurate electronic data files; ensures correction of errors or systems problems, either independently or in conjunction with the information technology office. - Initiates and completes open and close semester procedures for ENROLL database system. - Coordinates processing of inquiry letters/requests using correspondence database and oversees secretary in related activities. - Serves as liaison with information technology office in the development of required data retrieval/reports using SIS data. - Orders needed reports through information technology and the institutional effectiveness and research office. - Oversees collection and processing of clinical health data to generate reports for undergraduate and graduate students. - Generates regular reports on the clinical health requirements status of all students enrolled in the degree programs and distributes to departmental chairs. - Reviews all undergraduate applications relative to academic status using the SIS-Plus system; identifies pre-requisite and college GPA status for reviewers. - Coordinates processing of appropriate letters once admission decision has been reached. - Coordinates production of admission packets; supervises student workers in preparation of packets for mailing. Secondary Functions - Retrieves data required for semester/annual reports as requested by the manager and associate deans; prepares draft of reports. - Maintains correspondence database system and processes appropriate letters under the supervision of the director. - Assists with meetings to advise students of procedures/processes for licensure applications and testing. - Assists graduating students with the completion of NCLEX and TBN forms. - Coordinates with the director of the college testing center the development of database regarding NCLEX preparation and NCLEX results. - Processes office staff and student worker time reports. - Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge of Novell computer network and SIS-Plus system. - Knowledge of student enrollment database systems. - Knowledge of computers and various software programs. - Ability to communicate effectively. - Ability to work independently. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff. - Ability to organize workloads. - Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and in a professional manner. Supervision Given and Received Performs under general supervision. Determines own methods of performing assigned work. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, liberal arts or related area required; two years of related experience.
