Function of Position

Responsible to the Director of Sponsored Programs for conducting research to identify funding opportunities for the University, its faculty, staff and students; promoting such funding opportunities via web pages and newsletter; coordinating electronic research administration including maintaining institutional registrations with multiple sponsors’ electronic research administration websites and assisting the Assistant Director of Sponsored Programs with electronic submission of pre-award and post-award grant and contract documents; gathering and analyzing information from Sponsored Programs databases and spreadsheets for data requests and internal reports.

Essential Functions

-       Conducts research to identify funding opportunities.

-       Reviews on-line and print publications, funding databases, and other sources for grant funding opportunities and news items appropriate for publication on the web and in newsletters.

-        Develops and publishes on-line materials and maintains ORSPA web site.

-        Edits and publishes newsletters.

-        Maintains a funding alert e-mail list.

-        Trains faculty, staff and students in methods of finding funding opportunities.

-        Assists with electronic submission of pre-award and post-award documents.

-        Develops and maintains a faculty interest database.

Secondary Functions

-        Assists Director with RDC electronic grant submissions via Blackboard.

-        Coordinates Student Research Forum on-line abstract submission.

-        Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervision Given and Received

Performs under close supervision.  Supervisor determines work.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; one year of experience in Information Technology; and experience in higher education and/or research compliance desirable.
