Function of Position
Responsible to the Chair, Art and Design, for managing and maintaining all the
activities pertaining to Slocumb Galleries; and performing other related duties
as assigned.
Essential Functions

Manages operations and maintenance of Slocumb Galleries.
Secondary Functions
-
Organizes annual calendar/schedule of exhibition and activities.

Curates and hangs exhibitions.

Directs public relations and community outreach.

Writes grants and develops external funding opportunities.

Supervises student workers.

Works with faculty Gallery Committee.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
-
Knowledge of the application of technology in a cultural institutional
setting.

Knowledge of grant writing.

Knowledge of fund raising.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish positive working relationships with students,
faculty and staff.
Supervision Given and Received
Performs under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
MA of MFA in studio art, art history, museum/gallery studies, or related field;
three years experience in gallery or museum operations required.
