Function of Position

 

Candidate will participate in a variety of ongoing sponsored research at laboratory and field scale.  Primary responsibilities are to provide overall support to ongoing and anticipated projects.  The projects are both laboratory scale and field-based and involve bench- and pilot-scale experimentation as well as literature and technical report review, with the opportunity to develop projects reflective of ideas/experience of candidate.

 

Essential Functions

 

-        Directs laboratory activities for sponsored research.

-        Develops proposals.

-        Prepares technical reports and manuscripts.

-        Supervises the laboratory for undergraduate and graduate students.

-        Manages projects.

 

Secondary Functions

 

-        Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

-        Knowledge of groundwater remediation.

-        Knowledge of water and soils analyses.

-        Ability to prepare for technical reports and manuscripts.

-        Ability to communicate effectively.

 

Supervision Given and Received

 

Performs under general supervision.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Ph.D. in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental health, environmental chemistry, or related field; must have training in groundwater and soils analyzes.
