Function of Position

 

Responsible to the Director of Professional Development for planning, coordinating, implementing, managing, and evaluating a variety of non-credit seminars, conferences, youth programs, and workshops offered through the Office of Professional Development.

 

Essential Functions

 

-                Plans programs with budgetary concerns and time deadlines in mind.

-                Arranges rooms, facilities, and venues for programs.

-                Requests brochures, programs, signs, fliers and websites for program use.

-                Arranges advertising with local media.

-                Facilitates requisitions and contracts, purchase orders and payment.

-                Serves as conference liaison and facilitates registration, meals, and sessions.

-                Tracks conference registration and expenses in ACEware registration system.

-                Works with summer school on developing new noncredit activities.

 

Secondary Functions

 

-                Assists on concurrent programs.

-                Accesses and utilizes Banner, ebucs, and other financial systems.

-                Prepares reports to include all financial information.

-                Provides customer service to callers and participants who visit office.

-                Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

-        Knowledge of computers and various software packages.

-        Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.

-        Ability to handle multiple projects and timetables.

-        Ability to learn registration software.

 

Supervision Given and Received

 

Performs under general supervision.  Determines own methods of performing assigned work. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree required; one year full or two years part-time experience required in education, training or business related setting.
