Position Title: Program Coordinator

Function of Position

Responsible to the Program Director for assisting in the development of a comprehensive service system for young children with disabilities and their families; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

- Assists in policy development as requested by the lead agency.

- Travels to statewide meetings, trainings, etc.

- Facilitates the development of a statewide training program available to all professionals interested in the targeted population.

- Insures that information regarding system changes, best practices, etc., are distributed to the district offices.

- Assists in the planning and scheduling of system meetings.

- Compiles and analyzes statewide data on the costs, child and service characteristics of the system.

Secondary Functions

- Networks with related programs and agencies.

- Provides public awareness activities.

- Attends statewide meetings as requested.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities

- Knowledge of early childhood development.

- Knowledge of national resources.

- Ability to work well with the lead agency and district staff.

- Ability to work as a team member.

- Ability to communicate effectively.

Supervision Given and Received

Performs under general supervision. Determines own methods of performing assigned work.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in early childhood special education or related field; two years experience working with young children with developmental delays and their families.
