Function of Position
Responsible to Primary Investigator for formal qualitative and quantitative program evaluation of the Tennessee Coordinated School Health Program in all school systems in Tennessee; including coordinating statewide epidemiologic surveillance and evaluation; managing and developing databases; developing training materials and presentations; writing final evaluation reports; and managing grant budget and subcontracts.
Essential Functions
- Performs detailed analysis of survey data utilizing database spreadsheets and computer based statistical analysis.
- Writes, produces, and distributes evaluation reports utilizing graphics software.
- Coordinates data collection from sites.
- Assists in developing statewide sampling designs and strategies for final applications and documentation of data.
- Develops linkages with existing epidemiologic databases from federal/state agencies.
- Manages state grant budget and subcontracts.
- Supervises graduate student.
Secondary Functions
- Collaborates with university faculty to write articles utilizing data.
- Assists in development of competitive grant proposals.
- Develops training materials.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of SPSS statistical software, word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, and presentation graphics software.
- Knowledge of survey design and statistics.
- Knowledge of technical writing, budgeting, and program evaluation.
- Knowledge of state and federal grant management.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and evaluation.
- Knowledge of community and community health system.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
- Ability to develop reports.
- Ability to conduct meetings.
- Ability to train personnel.
- Ability to coordinate multiple resources and tasks.
Supervision Given and Received
Performs under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred in Health Sciences, Education, or Business; two years of related experience.
