potential; Function of Position Responsible to the Executive Associate Dean for Support Services/Project Director for developing partnerships with area health care agencies employing LPN's and LPN vocational programs (linkages) to enhance career mobility of LPN's and to prepare them to be registered nurses through a BSN degree; planning, coordinating, and managing the project; setting up recruitment schedules and activities in the community partner agencies; contacting and tracking prospective students; processing surveys and other evaluation data; managing data entry in collaboration with the statistical analyst for federal grant reports; assisting project personnel with peer tutoring and professional partner, matching and supervising ongoing student tutor/mentor contact documentation; communicating and keeping community partner agencies informed of project activities, progress, and events; tracking LPN students throughout the project until graduation providing counseling and referral for specific student needs; and performing other related duties as assigned. Essential Functions -Supervises day-to-day management of NURSE Center. -Supervises office personnel. -Contacts and tracks prospective students who express interest in the project. -Provides counseling and referral for specific student needs. -Monitors and tracks student progress. -Assists project personnel and students for peer tutoring and professional mentoring services. -Coordinates and distributes surveys and other evaluation data. -Oversees data entry in collaboration with the statistical analyst. -Sets up recruitment schedules and activities with community partner agencies. -Communicates with and informs community partner agencies of project activities. -Assists with writing federal grant reports on project activities. Secondary Functions -Maintains student records. -Coordinates program activities. -Serves as liaison for students and other university departments. -Processes the ordering and purchasing of office supplies, equipment and materials. -Maintains expenditures and budget records. -Writes correspondence, minutes and reports. -Processes student worker and tutor time sheets/payroll. -Disburses student paychecks. -Coordinates and schedules meeting rooms. -Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities -Knowledge of university policies and procedures. -Knowledge of curriculum and requirements. -Knowledge of student teaching. -Knowledge of computers and software applications. -Ability to effectively counsel students to meet their needs. -Ability to effectively collaborate with university staff and community partner agencies. -Ability to communicate effectively. -Ability to work independently. -Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Supervision Given and Received Performs under general supervision. Determines own methods of performing assigned work. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in counseling or related field required; master's degree preferred; experience with counseling students; experience as an employee at an institution of higher education preferred.
