Function of Position
Responsible to the Associate Dean for Graduate Business Studies for developing marketing materials for the MBA program, recruiting traditional and accelerated MBA students, advising and mentoring MBA students, assisting in the scheduling of MBA classes, supporting faculty in the delivery of instruction, and assisting in the evaluation of educational outcomes. Works with the College of Business and Technology department chairs, the Associate Deans, and the Dean to determine strategies for marketing, recruiting, advising, scheduling, delivering and evaluation instruction. Works with area businesses to enhance the reputation of the MBA program. Maintains knowledge of the MBA program, other College graduate programs, AACSB accreditation standards, and University Graduate School processes and requirements. Responsible to the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Technology for recruitment, evaluation of academic credentials, and academic advisement of MBA students.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates and maintains advisement program for all Master of Business Administration students.
- Develops and maintains MBA advisement materials and supervises the MBA database.
- Develops and maintains marketing materials for all MBA programs.
- Distributes MBA student information to faculty members as appropriate.
- Attends and participates in area career fairs.
- Organizes MBA orientation sessions.
- Coordinates course review with faculty and administration to determine courses that may be transferred into the MBA program as either prerequisites or foundation courses.
- Assists with the completion of graduation forms as needed.
- Counsels MBA students regarding academic and personal issues as needed.
- Contacts MBA students experiencing academic difficulty.
- Serves as contact person for prospective MBA students.
- Provides graduate information sessions at local four-year colleges for students interested in MBA studies.
- Participates in College and University training for advisors and graduate coordinators in such items as curriculum policies, university policies, student services, and retention efforts.
- Represents the College in recruitment efforts.
- Collects information from the Curriculum Committee, the faculty and the administrators to coordinate yearly Graduate Catalog updates.
- Coordinates exit interviews for graduating MBA students.
- Compiles exit interview information for College use.
- Serves as a member of the Master of Business Administration Committee.
- Serves as a member of the Graduate Programs Committee.
Secondary Functions
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to work effectively with students regarding academic and personal issues.
- Ability to serve as liaison for students regarding university resources.
- Ability to represent the College in offering MBA program information for existing and prospective students.
- Ability to work with faculty and administration in implementing and maintaining the MBA advisement program.
- Ability to represent the college in recruiting an information programs.
- Ability to create reports providing accurate, comprehensive information.
- Ability to write effectively in department-to-department correspondence (Registrar’s Office, Graduate School, etc.).
- Ability to maintain an effective advisement system.
- Ability to maintain an effective daily schedule to perform productivity.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously as needed.
- Ability to coordinate multiple-department course schedules.
- Ability to create and revise advisement handouts and other advising materials.
- Ability to supervise the maintenance of the MBA database.
- Ability to gather data needed for various graduate program surveys and rating systems.
- Ability to electronically store advisement materials and reports for use by College and University personnel.
- Ability to use Desire2Learn as a tool for effectively communicating with MBA students.
- Knowledge of MBA curriculum requirements and policies.
- Knowledge of University policies and student services.
- Knowledge of registration, academic advisement, and student recruitment and retention programs.

Performs under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s of Business Administration from an AACSB accredited university.
