Spanish and Journalism.. Produce bilingual newspapers, printed by local Rotary clubs.. develop a new Applied Spanish community Studies minor to address the need for bilingual professionals
Management & Marketing with Technology.. develop new experimental course.. students assist in organizing a regional arts and crafts cooperative and design a web page to market products
Theatre with English.. create new community-based Theatre courses.. collect oral histories from Butler and Unicoi County and write plays with community, and students perform in the communities and at ETSU
Biological Sciences with Management and Marketing.. students and faculty produce the Johnson County Vocational School marketing plan for talapia as alternative to growing tobacco
Nutrition with Health Sciences.. move graduate nutrition internships to rural counties.. create lesson plans for schools, the Johnson County Nutrition Coalition, and Telemon Migrant Head Start Program
Education and Information Technology.. partner with the Clinch Powell Enterprise-Community to establish a telecommunications network for a rural Teledemocracy Network
Communications, Reece Museum, Appalachian Studies and Theatre work with Rogersville Heritage Museum.. to enhance holdings of printing history of area.. perform outdoor plays as part of the summer Renaissance Festival
Center for Appalachian Studies and Services.. create new "documenting Community Traditions" class for interdisciplinary graduate majors to help eight community groups preserve their heritage
Early Childhood, Human Development and Learning, Communicative Disorders.. create sites in Hawkins and Unicoi that serve as community learning centers.. become statewide model for blending programs for early childhood and at-risk children, parent and child care provider training
Special Education.. move required assistive technology course to Unicoi County schools to learn directly with school teachers, parents and special education children
Applies Science and Technology and Business.. facilitate a countywide economic development visioning process for Johnson County following the loss of the county's largest employer
