"Our mission is to increase use of digital assets by East Tennessee State University students, staff, and faculty. We support Faculty and Staff developing digital assets for i) online course delivery or development, ii) promotion of ETSU courses, programs, and services, and iii) inclusion in open internet repositories. Between December 1st, 2010 and December 1st, 2011, our target is involvement in production of at least one video asset by Staff and Faculty from over 50% of the academic, service, and administrative units at ETSU."
Instructional Media Development: Our primary mission is to support development and delivery of digital audio and video resources for instruction. We deliver digital resources to students through click-and-play streaming links or subscription-enabled podcast technologies. Faculty and staff are welcome to use our recording studio and we are available to help record special events in the classroom.
Event, Program, and Promotional Recordings: We also support digital audio and video recording of ETSU-related events and promotional media to support ETSU programs and attractions. We provide national exposure through iTunes U, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. We provide streaming media links for inclusion in web pages. We may be able to assist with development and sales of digital assets to generate revenue in support of ETSU programs.
Service Projects: Finally, as part of ETSU’s continued commitment of service to the Appalachian region, our office will assist with recording, editing, and delivery of digital assets in support of new or existing service projects. We seek to provide considerable assistance with media development to at least one regional service project each year.
