Reorganization Committee

March 2002 News

Four sub-committees were formed in March to facilitate the work of the Reorganization Committee. The teams were charged with specific tasks to be completed by April 30, 2002.  Updates on the progress of the subcommittees were reported as follows on March 19.

Benchmarking Sub-committee:

The sub-committee is charged with reviewing existing structures at institutions similar to ETSU; reviewing the literature for best practices; identifying models that will best position ETSU for the future; and reviewing theories on organizational structure.  Membership of the Benchmarking Sub- committee is comprised of the following:

Data Sub-committee:

The sub-committee is charged with identifying essential and critical data for decision-making; overseeing the process of data collection; and determining what type of academic support data will be needed to complete the charge of the Reorganization Committee.  The subcommittee has conducted a full review of the Academic Affairs Data Warehouse, the SACS website, and other ETSU data sources and determined that no additional data generation will be needed at present.  Department level data will be presented in the format used in the SACS profile pages and will include outcomes.  Membership of the Data Sub-committee is comprised of the following:

Focus Group Sub-committee:

Charged with ensuring broad participation of the entire university community in development of proposals for reorganization, the sub-committee is presently conducting open discussion sessions across campus.  Click schedule for time and location of scheduled opportunities for participation in the sessions.  Click questions for a list of focus questions to be considered at the sessions.  Membership of the Focus Group Sub-committee is comprised of the following:

Web Page Sub-committee:

The sub-committee is charged with designing, developing, and monitoring a web page that will be linked to the Academic Affairs web page.  The web page is now online and will be modified and updated as needed.  Membership of the Web Page Sub-committee is comprised of the following:
