Immunizations Required Under the Tennessee State Law
The State of Tennessee requires that all students enrolled in state
colleges and universities meet certain immunization requirements
prior to their initial enrollment in the university or
college. These requirements include:
1. Proof that the Student has received
(2) MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
Shots or Physician signed documentation of immunity.
2. Proof that the Student has received (
2) Varicella (Chicken Pox) Shots or
Physician signed documentation of immunity.
3. A
Signed Waiver form acknowledging that
the student is aware of the risk associated with Hepatitis B
and Meningitis Infections on a college campus.
NEW VARICELLA REQUIREMENTS EFFECTIVE
JULY 1, 2011
If you were born on or after January 1, 1980, to be a
full-time enrolled student, you must provide proof of Two doses
of the Varicella vaccine or physician signed documentation of a
history of the disease. If you cannot provide this documentation,
you may provide proof of the results of a positive titer from a
medical laboratory or a provider's office for this disease. If
you are taking on-line classes only, you are exempt from this
requirement, but you must complete the Registrar's "On-Line Only
Waiver Form" each semester.
