Dual Enrollment
Dual enrollment classes are available to high school juniors and seniors with an un-weighted high school grade point average of 3.2 or above on 4.0 scale and have ACT composite score and sub scores of 19 or higher or comparable SAT scores.  If ACT or SAT scores are not available, comparable PLAN scores are required.
  • Students must complete an application for admission to ETSU (Classification: Special Student – Dual Enrollment)
  • Students must request that an official grade transcript be sent to ETSU
  • Letter of recommendation from guidance counselor or principal
  • Students must submit their ACT/SAT/PLAN scores ETSU
  • Students may take up to seven credit hours per semester (two classes)

Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant program (Lottery)

  • Eligible students must complete the Dual Enrollment Grant application
  • Students may receive up to $600 per award year ($300 per semester)
  • Student must maintain a 2.75 cumulative grade point average to continue receiving the grant (certified at the end of each semester)

 ETSU Dual Enrollment Scholarship for Academically Talented Students:

  • Students must have a 3.4 or above GPA to receive the scholarship
  • Available for one class per semester
  • Students must maintain a “B” or higher average in their college classes
  • Eligibility requirements are reviewed at the end of each semester to verify that students have maintained the minimum GPA in order to continue to receive the scholarship

Students may receive both the Tennessee (Lottery) Dual Enrollment Grant and the ETSU Dual Enrollment Scholarship for Academically Talented Students

No additional application is necessary to be considered for the scholarship

Application deadline for Dual Enrollment Students

Dates are determined for each semester by the university and the high school. They will be announced at the Dual Enrollment Informational Meetings.

ETSU at Kingsport Services:

  • Fees may be paid at the Kingsport campus
  • Bookstore will be open the first week of classes
  • Free math tutoring
