Students must submit all admission materials to the School of Graduate Studies; writing sample guidelines will be provided by the School of Graduate Studies liaison to MALS after all other application materials have been received. Once the student has submitted the writing sample, the complete application then will be forwarded to the MALS director for initial consideration. After the MALS director reviews the materials, the student will be contacted to set up an admissions interview.
International Student Admission: For additional information about international student admission, please visit the graduate school catalog. In addition, ETSU partners with ELS Educational Services to provide conditional admission for students who are academically qualified, but who don't meet our English Language proficiency requirements at the time of application to the university. We accept proof of completion of ELS Language Center's English for Academic Purposes Level 112, as satisfying the requirements for English proficiency for the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program.
