10th Annual Southeastern Association of Vertebrate Paleontology

June 14-17, 2017

Gray Fossil Site and Museum

Registration Fee $55.00

The ETSU Don Sundquist Center of Excellence in Paleontology is proud to host the Southeastern Association of Vertebrate Paleontology (SeAVP) meeting this year, from June 14th-June 17th, at the Gray Fossil Site & Museum.

SeAVP was started by ETSU in 2008, and this year we celebrate our 10 year anniversary.  The goal of the meeting is to gather together students, researchers, staff, volunteers, and the general public to advance paleontology in the Southeast.  While the meeting is always hosted by a southeastern institution, the conference encourages presentations on projects from around the world.

The meeting will kick-off on Wednesday evening at the Museum with an early bird mixer.  ETSU paleontologists will be on site to greet visitors. Thursday morning will begin with oral presentations, and the afternoon will include behind the scenes tours of the fossil site and museum.  Friday the meeting will include more oral presentations and a poster session.  Friday evening will be a barbecue banquet at the museum, with local music.  There is an optional field trip on Saturday the 17th for an additional fee.  The trip will go to Saltville, Virginia, where participants will visit late Pleistocene excavation sites and the Museum of the Middle Appalachians.
