My first real exposure to economic theory laid the foundation for a life-long approach to problem solving, in addition to helping me choose my major. What did you study that's proven to be more beneficial than you thought it would be? First Aid. As a father, I'm happy I took the class. (Just knowing CPR and some rudimentary first aid techniques is great peace of mind.) As a senior, I was just looking for an elective. Why should students consider attenting ETSU? East Tennessee State University allows students to access a first-rate educational product at an incredibly reasonable price. As college tuition sky-rockets across the nation, students and their families are often faced with the difficult decision of shouldering substantial debt to finance their education. At East Tennessee State you get the benefits of a regionally respected institution with a demonstrated commitment to continued improvement in its programs and facilities, combined with a tuition bill that won't break the bank. What advice would you give students just beginning their college careers? You are ultimately responsible for your own education. A university can only provide you with an environment in which to learn. You have to take on the responsibility for learning yourself. Structure your educational experience so that you will get the most benefit. Your professors are a great resource. Don't be afraid to approach them with questions about their courses, your education, or life in general. Most will be more than happy to talk with you. What have you learned from your work and life experience since graduating from ETSU? Hard work does pay off. Professors and employers appreciate, respect and reward students and workers who go the extra mile. |
