Transfer Scholarships

ETSU will consider transfer students for the Transfer Academic Performance Scholarship Program (TAPS). To be considered, applicants must be:

  • Tennesseans and present a minimum of 24 semester hours of credit for transfer and,
  • a minimum grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
  • The Transfer Academic Performance Scholarship is in the amount of $1,278.00 each semester in return for approximately six hours of work per week.

Tennessee resident students who are accepted into any ETSU's Honors-in-Discipline Program are eligable to be considered for Honors-in-Discipline scholarships (of which there is a limited number). Who may apply?

  • Entering Freshman with an ACT score of 25 or higher and a high school GPA of at least 3.2
  • ETSU students no later than first semester junior year with an overall ETSU GPA of 3.2 and Math GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Transfer students with an overall grade point average of 3.4 or better .

Public Performance

The Tennessee Board of Regents has recently approved a new scholarship provision of system institutions. The Scholarship in the amount of out of state tuition may be awarded to nonresidents who are admitted to campus under this program. A performance-based scholarship is one that displays distinctive talents, requiring public performance as a significant part of its component. This scholarship can only be used to bring in new students, and is not available to already enrolled students.

Academic Common Market

 

 

The Academic Common Market is an interstate agreement among southern states for sharing academic uncommon programs. Participating states are able to make arrangements for their residents who qualify for admission to enroll in specific programs in other states on an in-state tuition basis.

To enroll as an Academic Common Market student, you must:

  • Be accepted for admission into an ETSU program to which your state has obtained access for its residents through the Academic Common Market.
  • Obtain certification of residency from the Common Market Coordinator in your home state. Contact the State Coordinator for certification information.
  • Process certification in ETSU Office of Admissions (undergraduate programs) or Graduate Office (graduate programs). Important — Certification must be processed by last day of registration (official census date) of semester in order to be effective with that semester. Certification processed after that date will be effective with the next semester.

Phi Theta Kappa

 

Scholarship Application

 

 

  • Members of Phi Theta Kappa--an honor society for community college students--are encouraged to apply.
  • The award is renewable based on academic performance.
  • To apply, simply complete and return the university's scholarship application after you have applied for admission.
  • Awards are made for the Fall semester only. The scholarship application priority date is May 15. Awards are not available to online students.
