  Swine Flu Information

There have been no documented swine flu cases in Tennessee, but the universtiy is monitoring the situation and has implemented the following:

a.)    The ETSU Health & Safety Office is working with various ETSU staff to implement appropriate components of our Influenza Preparedness Plan.

b.)    ETSU staff are communicating regularly with leadership at the Regional Health Department in Johnson City regarding measures to be taken locally concerning the swine flu problem.

c.)     At this time, University classes and schedules are proceeding without change.

d.)    Note that non-essential travel to Mexico is being discouraged at this time.

e.)    Student Health Service has been appraised of the overall situation and is prepared to provide necessary services.

f.)     Students and staff should observe general infection control measures as proposed by CDC including  hand washing, covering one’s mouth during cough or sneeze and trying to avoid crowded settings if you have a respiratory illness.
