The Allen and Ruth Harris

In 1988 the late Allen and Ruth Harris of
Johnson City donated a naming-level gift to the university,
establishing the third endowed Chair of Excellence at ETSU. The
Allen and Ruth Harris Chair of Excellence in Business:
-
Enhances the academic, research, and
service programs of ETSU's College of Business, with an
emphasis on management skills and practices within the
Master of Business Administration program,
-
Accelerated development of the MBA
program serves as a means of upgrading the management
skills of area personnel,
-
Develops stronger working relationships
between the college and the regional business community.
The chair offers assistance in key areas of business:
Business strategy and planning
Production
Information systems
Communications and marketing
As chairholder, Dr. Allen J.Spritzer
serves as a university representative and consultant to
businesses and individuals throughout Tennessee and the
Southeast. From 1981-99 Spritzer served as Dean of the
College of Business.
