Dr. Little, a native of Greeneville, Tenn., resides in Winnetka, Ill., where he is executive director of The Music Center of the North Shore -- the oldest and largest music school in Illinois and a nationally acclaimed pre-college training center for gifted performers. Prior to his position with The Music Center, he was chairman of the music department at Furman University in Greenville, S. C. For thirteen seasons he was principal tenor at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and for five seasons he was principal tenor at the Metropolitan Opera. His international operatic career has included performances in Milan and Florence and in Spain. He has sung two papal command performances, and during his Chicago years performed before numerous heads of state. He is a member of ETSU Commission on the Future. He received the ETSU NAA Certificate of Merit, May 1984, and in 1986 received ETSU Distinguished Alumnus in the Arts Award.
