Seeking Responsibilities: Created research idea, wrote a proposal, and
conducted an experiment to evaluate
the utility of impulsivity scores from the TOVA in predicting scores on the Sensation
Seeking Scale compared to scores from another impulsivity
measure, the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale, Version 11. This project is a master’s thesis in partial

Laboratory Responsibilities: Involved in three studies from start to finish. Created research ideas and methods, created materials, obtained data from participants, data entry and analysis, and wrote methods section for manuscripts on all three projects. Studies measured error rates and reaction times of participants to examine their ability to recognize or reconstruct a word, based on the different features of consonants in the word. 2005 – March 2006 Laboratory for the
Study and Prevention of Sexual Assault Responsibilities: Participated in and evaluated a by men-for men sexual assault education group. Worked with a group of men to present a program to undergraduate males about the dangers of sexual assault and how to prevent themselves, friends, and family from being victims or perpetrators. Relationships Laboratory Responsibilities: Involved in creating experiment idea. Organized scheduling and oversaw experiment during data collection for study concerning therapist-patient relationship on a circumplex model. Responsibilities: Conduct intake assessments, coordinate treatment planning and conduct ongoing therapy for clients in a rural outpatient mental health center. Part of a team of psychologists, social workers, and case managers involved in coordinating treatment for each patient. Worked with the primary care doctor onsite for continuity of care. 2007 - June 2008 Responsibilities: Provide safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for individuals in psychiatric crisis. Facilitate group therapy each morning providing positive feedback and encouragement for clients to set goals for themselves and enhance therapeutic experience. Provide one to one interventions and therapy as needed. Participate in creating and implementing a multidisciplinary treatment plan with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and other professionals. Perform vital signs and glucose monitoring. Practice non-violent crisis intervention techniques as learned from Secure Training. Assessment and Intervention Services,
Responsibilities: Worked directly with developmentally disabled and mentally retarded clients to facilitate more independent living. Encouraged and reinforced independent living skills and assisted clients with activities of daily living they were unable to perform. Worked with treatment coordinators to develop and evaluate therapeutic programs, implemented to increase independent living skills, for each client.
