| Participate in Research |
| There are two ways to participate in research at ETSU. One way is through the Psychology Department's online participant pool, and the other is via this web site. | |||||||||||||||||||
Participant Pool:Hosted by Sona Systems and the ETSU network, the psychology department's online participant pool is specifically for students enrolled in any course taught by a participating instructor. All you have to do is visit the site, create an account for yourself, and then select the studies you would like to participate in. Participation is completely anonymous. That means no researcher will know who responded in what way to what questions! Most of the surveys that will be available on Sona will take 10-60 minutes to complete, and be worth .5 points or more. When you create your account, you will identify the participating courses you are taking this semester, and the system will automatically award your extra credit points at the end of the semester. In fact, you can reassign your extra credit points until the end of the semester to make sure that you get the extra credit wherever you need them the most. Online Surveys:Online surveys are opportunities to participate in research for those not affiliated with participating courses. Once you have completed an online survey, you will be given the option to supply the system with information regarding potential extra credit for a class. If you are completing participating in exchange for course credit, you must supply this information so we can notify the professor. Not all professors offer extra credit for participating, so be sure to check on this option with each of your professors before you decide to participate. If you are not enrolled in a course at ETSU offering extra credit and would like to participate in a study, click here. |
