Planting a
Memorial Tree

Frosty Levy and Susan Antkiewicz wait by the truck with the Weeping Alaskan Cypress (Chamaecyparis nootkatnesis) to be planted in memory of Dr. Dorothy Humpf, a former ETSU faculty member in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.

Grounds crew removes the tree from the truck to bring it to its place beside the DP Culp University Center.
Terry Radford and Nick Rotella cut away the pot from the tree before it is planted.
The crew digs the hole for the tree.
Setting the tree properly takes a team effort. Notice in the background the bright autumn color of the deciduous conifer, European Larch (Larix decidua)
The crew begins filling in the hole.
Mission accomplished—Nick Rotella, Marcus Keller, Terry Radford, Nick Loveless, and Heidi Alldredge finish the tree planting.
