Academic Advisement and Enrollment Information
Registration information for Summer and Fall 2005 Semesters

Do you need money for college? You may be eligible to receive financial aid. You can find out by going online and completing the federal financial aid form (FAFSA). If you need assistance submitting the form, please call 423-844-6300 and schedule an appointment with Lisa Elliott.
High School Seniors! We will be visiting your high school during the lunch hours. While at your school, we will answer questions about ETSU, provide you with scholarship information, and let you know about course offerings at the Bristol campus. For more information call 423-844-6300.
Students 21 years of age and older! After being admitted to ETSU, you will be required to take a placement test. Check out a sample of what to expect on the exam (Compass). This test does not determine eligibility for admission to ETSU, but rather the level at which you will begin in math and English.
All new students are required to attend an orientation session in Johnson City. Schedule to meet with Lisa Elliott. prior to attending orientation in order to select your classes. Please call 423-844-6300.

All students who have not yet reached junior level status (60 credit hours), are required to meet with an advisor.
If you are a part-time student and have met with Lisa Elliott in the past, you may be able to receive advisement via e-mail. Send a listing of courses you wish to take for approval to elliotlk@etsu.edu

The University Bookstore operates an annex open at the beginning and end of each semester. Students can purchase textbooks and materials for classes. Students can order pre-packaged books and have them delivered to the Bristol campus. A wide variety of school supplies, ETSU sportswear, and other ETSU novelty items can be ordered. Book buy back days are also provided at the end of each semester. Please call 423-844-6300 for bookstore dates and hours.
A career and personal counselor from ETSU's Counseling Center is available to assist you with career decisions or any other concerns you may have while enrolled at ETSU. Learn how to use Discover software, a computer program which assists you in making career choices. Please call 423-844-6300 to schedule an appointment. All appointments are confidential.

The computer lab, equipped with Dell computers, is available for individual or class use six days (including Saturdays) a week during regular hours. Software installed on the computers includes Microsoft Office 2000 (including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint), Microsoft Front Page, Visual Studio, Internet and e-mail access, and statistical and graphic packages. A lab assistant is available at scheduled times.
Each semester, undergraduate courses from ETSU's general education core and selected introductory courses from a wide variety of majors are offered during the day and in the evening. Through the School of Continuing Studies, the Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) degree may be available to adult students with special academic and scheduling needs. A representative from ETSU's Office of Financial Aid visits with students in Bristol on an appointment basis on the 3rd Thursday of each month. If you have questions regarding grants, loans, scholarships, or how you can apply for financial aid, please call 423-844-6300 to schedule an appointment. Students can also apply online for financial aid.
A small number of books and periodicals are available in the Library Resources Room, along with computer access to the library's electronic resources (e.g., Magellan library catalog, networked CD-ROM indexes, Infotrac full-text periodical index). The Library Resources Room is open during normal operating hours. Students may also request materials from the Sherrod Library on the campus in Johnson City, and the ETSU at Kingsport library, through the library's Extended Campus Services. On-site assistance is scheduled weekday evenings or as requested. For more information, call 423-844-6300.
