Event Description

JOHNSON CITY (December 17, 2012) – The Association for Global Business (AGB) has presented an award to East Tennessee State University’s Dr. Andy Czuchry, holder of the AFG Industries Chair of Excellence in Business and Technology, as well as professor both in the Department of Engineering Technology, Surveying and Digital Media and the Department of Management and Marketing.

AGB is a worldwide, non-profit organization created in 1989 to foster education in the fields of business and related areas of global concern. The organization encourages and facilitates an exchange of information, ideas and research activities among people in academic life, business and government, or involved in many aspects of business and global enterprises.

Every two years, AGB recognizes an outstanding individual who has contributed extensively to promote global education in cooperation with business concerns. Czuchry was chosen for the 2012 award. He was presented with a plaque for his contributions and devotion to AGB, as well as for his outstanding publications.

Among his achievements mentioned in connection with the award were his research papers and presentations, which frequently receive “best paper” awards. In addition, during 2012, he initiated and served as chair and moderator of a panel discussion entitled “Corporate Global Sustainability: A Role for Partnership with Higher Education,” with panelists consisting of four senior managers from major industries. Mentioned as Czuchry’s most important asset was “his devotion to and partnerships with his students in building a bridge between academic work and private enterprises.”

For further information, contact Czuchry at (423) 439-7444 or czuchry@etsu.edu.
