Event Description
JOHNSON CITY (December 21, 2012) – Listed next to two Yale University professors, East Tennessee State University’s Dr. Don Shemwell is among educators posting the five most popular business lectures on iTunesU, an educational platform that offers university lectures to a worldwide audience.
In his 19-part lecture series, Shemwell introduces listeners to the key principles of successful marketing on a global level. He examines market strategy from the aspects of consumer behavior, competition, marketing institutions and the law.
Shemwell, a professor in the Department of Management and Marketing within the College of Business and Technology, says, “Editing is vital to a lecture’s success, so ETSU staffer Zion Madden deserves much of the credit.” He also appreciates ETSU Director of eLearning Digital Media Services David Currie. “He advised me to just be natural, because I was best when I said what I really felt,” notes Shemwell.
Dr. Linda Garceau, dean of the College of Business and Technology, adds, “Dr. Shemwell has always been an early adopter of innovations in the delivery of instruction. He has successfully translated his engaging classroom lectures to the iTunes platform. And now, he is actively engaged in the design and development of a new master’s-level program in digital marketing that will be offered entirely online.”
