JOHNSON CITY (March 15, 2013) – Jennifer Nuss Clements has been named director of Marketing and Special Events in the East Tennessee State University Office of University Relations.
In her new role, Clements is responsible for developing and implementing branding and marketing strategies for the university, overseeing the development of marketing initiatives and campaigns to promote awareness of and increase enrollment in ETSU’s academic programs, and evaluating and recommending marketing opportunities to the university’s colleges and departments. She also leads the ETSU marketing advisory committee and coordinates special events hosted by the Office of the President and Office of University Relations.
Clements was previously director of marketing for Online Programs at ETSU. In that role, she coordinated both internal and external marketing for ETSU’s online programs, courses and dual enrollment. She developed and implemented the ETSU Online marketing campaign by creating a logo, tagline and message and focusing on brand awareness, which resulted in a 1,000 percent increase in traffic to the ETSU Online website.
Before coming to ETSU, Clements worked for seven years as a product management and market development representative for Moody Dunbar Inc., a Johnson City-based manufacturer and distributor of canned vegetables. She also served as an operations and marketing consultant for Rita’s Italian Ice in Johnson City and co-founded Simply Events, which creates and executes corporate and private events in the region.
The Unicoi native holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Ohio Northern University and a master of business administration from ETSU.
Clements is a member of the Junior League of Johnson City, in which she has served as president, treasurer, and director of fund development, membership and communications. She volunteers with Mountain Region Donor Services as an advocate for organ donation and is an active member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, Johnson City. In addition, she has served as a volunteer coordinator for the city’s annual Blue Plum Festival.
