| Murmurations: BFA Exhibit by Emily Eversgerd |
|
Event Description
“Murmurations”, a BFA exhibition featuring the works of Emily Eversgerd, is presented by the ETSU Department of Art and Design. The exhibition will be on display in the Slocumb Galleries from November 12th to 21st, with a public reception on November 16th, Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Eversgerd’s work focuses on the underlying structure and design of the natural world. She has chosen to use the form of jewelry because of its unique physical bond with the wearer, believing that this unification of object and person supplies a means of communication unknown to any other art form. She has received various awards including the Best of Show at the annual Student Honor Show 2012, TACA Craft Award recipient and the prestigious Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) Educational Endowment Scholarship.
The Slocumb Galleries’ events are open to the public free of charge. Gallery hours are Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours during receptions and scheduled tours. If you would like to contact the artist, please email at Eeversgerd@comcast.net or visit her website at www.emilyeversgerd.com http://www.emilyeversgerd.com. The Slocumb Galleries are located at Ernest C. Ball Hall along Sherrod Drive, ETSU Campus.
