Deadline extended for Reece Museum Poinsettia Tree plant orders

JOHNSON CITY (Posted Nov. 6, 2012) – The Reece Museum at East Tennessee State University has extended the deadline to order flowers for its traditional Poinsettia Memory Tree to this Friday, Nov. 9.

Poinsettias may be purchased in honor or memory of loved ones, and the flowers will be placed in the tree-shaped poinsettia exhibit, which will be on display from Nov. 12-Dec. 7 in the second floor lobby of Burgin E. Dossett Hall. To acknowledge donations, postcards will be mailed by Reece Museum staff to honorees or their families. A poster will also be on display beside the poinsettia tree with a list of this year’s honorees.

Following the exhibit, the poinsettia plants will be distributed among long-term residents at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home.

The poinsettias are $20 each. Order forms are available on the Reece Museum’s website, www.etsu.edu/cass/reece/support, or by contacting the museum at (423) 439-4392 or reecemus@etsu.edu.
