JOHNSON CITY (Posted Dec. 4, 2012) – The annual Holiday Art Show and Silent Auction sponsored by the East Tennessee State University Department of Art and Design and Slocumb Galleries will continue through Dec. 13 at Slocumb.
A reception to be held Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5-7 p.m. at Slocumb Galleries will include the announcement of auction results, as well as the ETSU Student Ceramics Association Bowl Charity Event to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
The show features art and crafts by local artists and ETSU faculty, students and alumni, ranging from painting, prints, photographs, jewelry, fibers, ceramics and other works in various media. Numerous non-art items included in the silent auction have been donated by local businesses and friends of Slocumb Galleries, including Backdoor Records, Bang Hair Salon, Body Health and Mind Center, Camp Ruff-n-more, Gems and Whims, Inspire Hair Color Studio, Mr. K’s Used Books and CDs, Metamorphosis Salon, Mountain Empire Comics, The Dollhouse and Video Trading Co.
Admission is free. Regular gallery hours for Slocumb Galleries, located in Ball Hall, are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with extended hours for receptions and special tours.
