Event Description
Dr. Thomas Schacht, piano
Dr. David Champouillon, trumpet
Laura Champouillon, organ
The Jazz Doctors
This recital is of presidential proportions featuring ETSU’s last two faculty senate presidents. Dr. Thomas Schacht, professor of psychiatry, is the past president of the faculty senate. Dr. David Champouillon is faculty senate president emeritus. Long-time friends and collaborators, they once again join together in a cross-campus performance featuring works with various connections to the key of E or E flat (All pieces are also performed on the E flat trumpet which requires “a lot of effort”). Literature includes Loeillet’s “Sonata in A flat”, Neruda’s “Concerto in E flat”, and “Mystique” and “Rag-Polka” from Bolling’s “Toot Suite”. Joining the former presidents will be organist Laura Champouillon and The Jazz Doctors to round out the report card grade!
PLEASE NOTE: NEW RECITAL DATE--DECEMBER 4, 2012 (Rescheduled from 11/27/2012.)
