Event Description
JOHNSON CITY (December 6, 2012) – The Department of Military Science at East Tennessee State University will hold a Commissioning Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. in room 112 of Brown Hall. Dr. Brian Noland, president of ETSU, will be the speaker at the event.
The ETSU Army ROTC cadets receiving commissions as second lieutenants include Jake Carr, David Casey Meade and Christopher Ray Morris.
Carr, son of David and Darla Carr of Knoxville, will graduate in December with a bachelor’s degree in physics. He will enter the Aviation Branch Officer Basic Course and then be assigned to the 8th Battalion, 229th Aviation Regiment with duty at Fort Knox, Ky.
Meade will receive a bachelor’s degree in computer and information sciences at ETSU’s December Commencement exercises. The son of Dave Meade of Kingsport and Lynn Larsen of Johnson City, he will next enter the Signal Corps Officer Basic Course.
Morris is the son of Eric and Tammy Morris of Kingsport. He will receive a degree in criminal justice and criminology and then enter the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course.
