Event Description
JOHNSON CITY (February 15, 2013) – A consortium of 16 area colleges and universities will hold the Interstate Career Fair on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 1-4 p.m. at the Millennium Centre, across from the East Tennessee State University campus on State of Franklin Road in Johnson City.
More than 50 employers and graduate or professional schools will attend. The event is free and open to students and alumni of the participating schools, as well as the public. Professional dress is encouraged and those in attendance should bring copies of their résumé.
The fair is sponsored by members of the Interstate Career Council Schools, including Bluefield State College, Concord University, ETSU, Emory and Henry College, King University, Milligan College, Northeast State Community College, Old Dominion University-Southern Virginia Higher Education Council, Southwest Virginia Community College, Tennessee Wesleyan College, Tusculum College, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, Virginia Highlands Community College, Virginia Intermont College, Virginia Tech and Wytheville Community College.
This year will be the 25th anniversary of the consortium’s spring career fairs.
Employers and graduate schools attending the fair include 21st Mortgage Corp., Bankers Life and Casualty Co., Bristol Broadcasting, Brock Services, Carter Machinery, Columbus McKinnon, Cooper Standard, City of Johnson City, Eastman Chemical Co., Enterprise Holdings, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Frontier Health, Montgomery County Department of Police, Mountain States Health Alliance, Northwestern Mutual, Nuclear Fuel Services, the U.S. Air Force, Waffle House Inc., WCYB/WEMT, Wellmont Health System, Appalachian College of Pharmacy, Liberty University School of Law, Lipscomb University Graduate Studies in Engineering Management, Radford University, Richmont Graduate University, Southeast Culinary and Hospitality College and others.
