Event Description
Whether to live in or at distance from a main art hub has been an ongoing discourse among artists. This project revisits the debate, taking in consideration advances in technology (i.e. video conferencing, social networking, on-line sales, web visibility) and current perceptions of urban and non-urban living. Concluding a series of roundtable discussions, a panel of four art professionals from around the country will present their research and will dialogue over what it means to be an artist working at a distance from New York, LA, Berlin, or London.
Panelists:
Emma Balazs, Director of Visual Arts, Columbia University
Sarrita Hunn, co-founder and managing editor of Temporary Art Review
