Event Description
ETSU Students and Faculty
At 7:10, the program begins with a pre-concert talk: "Feminine Ending?" by Dr. Deadman of the ETSU Music Department. In this final concert of the Chopin 200 Series, ETSU students and faculty will perform a program featuring Chopin's dances. Of the dance forms associated with Chopin, the mazurka and Polonaise reflect most intimately the composer's affinity with his Polish heritage. The Waltz, on the other hand, reflects the elegance of the ballroom patronized by the upper class of the early nineteenth century. It was in Chopin's hands that those dances became original, poetic, and highly refined art works.
