JOB DESCRIPTION:
City of Bristol, Tennessee Community
Development Department is seeking a qualified student to
fill the Community Development intern position for fall 2008
semester. The primary job duties include document scanning,
data storage, and filing. Specifically, scanning building
and/or site plans and saving them to the permitting software
to the geographic information system. Some of the plans
will involve current projects and others will involve
archival data storage. The project is estimated to be
completed by the end of the calendar year 2008.
Strong computer skills are required. A
working knowledge of Adobe and ArcView is preferred.
Preferred educational background: drafting/design, planning,
data entry, or similar course of study.
SALARY: $ 11.00 pr/hr
HOURS: 20 pr/wk

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Y-12 Complex was constructed as part of the WWII Manhattan
Project. The employer's mission is to meet the needs of the Department of
Energy, other government agencies, and private industries through a commitment
to excellence in the use of a technology-based manufacturing center. Another
mission of long standing is the support of other federal agencies through a
Work-for-Others program. Y-12 applies unique expertise, initially developed for
highly specialized military purposes, to a wide range of manufacturing problems
to support the capabilities of the U.S. industrial base. Y-12's all-inclusive
expertise includes proceeding from concept, through detailed design and
specification, to building prototypes and configuring integrated manufacturing
processes.
