JOB DESCRIPTION:
The USDA, Rural Development located in Greeneville, Tennessee is
seeking qualified students to fill the internship position for fall 2008 and
subsequent semesters. Increasing economic opportunity and improving the
quality of life for people in rural America is the goal of this agency. USDA,
Rural Development is working to eliminate substandard housing in rural America
by helping rural people buy, build, or rent decent housing.
The agency also creates jobs by funding the growth and creation
of rural businesses and cooperatives. Rural Development programs help rural
communities build and improve community facilities, such as schools, health
clinics and fire stations. Rural Development also has programs that help rural
communities build or extend utilities, including water, electricity and
telecommunication services.
SALARY: $ 12.00 pr/hr (approximate to be based on academic
status)
HOURS: 20-40 pr/wk
