JOB DESCRIPTION: The Y-12 Complex was constructed as part of the WWII
Manhattan Project. The employer's mission is to meet the needs of the
Department of Energy, other government agencies, and private industries through
a commitment to excellence in the use of a technology-based manufacturing
center. Another mission of long standing is the support of other federal
agencies through a Work-for-Others program. Y-12 applies unique expertise,
initially developed for highly specialized military purposes, to a wide range of
manufacturing problems to support the capabilities of the U.S. industrial base.
Y-12's all-inclusive expertise includes proceeding from concept, through
detailed design and specification, to building prototypes and configuring
integrated manufacturing processes.
Job duties and responsibilities of students
will vary per curriculum
discipline. A more detailed description of duties will be discussed during
phone interviews.
SALARY: $ 2,000 - $ 3,000 PR/MO (DETERMINED UPON CLASSIFICATION AND
EXPERIENCE.) BWXT-Y12 OFFERS A FULL RANGE OF BENEFITS FOR CO-OP STUDENTS.
HOURS: FULL-TIME
